Breaking into the top 100
What a great feeling of achievement breaking into the top 100. A lot of hard work for me and my team to reach this goal!
Being only the second Norwegian player to do so 24 years after my father is also a special feeling.
In August, my team and I made some changes to my training base and decided to join the Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar after receiving an invitation to join them in Mallorca. It was not a difficult decision for me to join perfect training facilities and training partners to take the next step.
During September and October I had a good trip to the states with good results which brought me closer to my goal, however not quite reaching it. I went on to put down a lot of hard work during pre-season at the Academy.
I then started the 2019 season in Australia with a challenger tournament and Australian Open but did not get the results I hoped and worked hard for. After Australia, I went on to South America for a 4-week long trip. The two first weeks not quite finding my game but ending the two last weeks with a quarterfinal in Rio ATP 500 and a semi-final in Sao Paulo ATP 250. Very happy with my game these weeks and the results made me brake into the top 100.
I am very grateful to all the people around me working hard to help and push me to achieve my goals. Without them my journey is not possible. So, a big thanks to all of you, my team, my sponsors, my coaches, the academy, and off course my girlfriend and my family who is always there for me.
I will continue my journey and keep on working hard to achieve new goals.
