Hamburg ATP 500

After Rome ATP 1000 Casper travels to Hamburg for The Hamburg European Open ATP 500 event.

Casper gets a Wednesday start and plays Benoit Paire #24 in the first round. With a solid game Casper takes the first set 6/4 and is in the lead with 2-0 in the second set when Paire is forced to reitre.

Second round opponent is Fabio Fognini #15. Casper is able to play with good depth and pressure. Very few unforced errors and wins the match 6/3 6/3. In the quarterfinal he plays fellow Nextgen player Ugo Humbert. A tough battle in three sets with a broad repertoire and a high level from both players. Casper wins the match 7/5 3/6 6/1. Casper is in the semis for the second week.

He plays Andrey Rublev , a hard-hitting tough player. With a close first set which Casper loses 4/6 Rublev is continuing his tough and precise game and beats Casper 6/4 6/2.

Another great week for Casper in an ATP500 event which results in a

new career high of ATP #25
